The British Film Institute has been busy this year restoring and releasing cinema classics onto Blu-ray. The latest to be announced by the BFI is 1925’s The Phantom of the Opera, the silent film directed by Rupert Julian and starring Lon Chaney.
Abattoir is a passion project for Darren Lynn Bousman, who has been developing the property for a number of years. It first saw the light of day as a limited comic book series and we now have word that Bousman will be directing the feature film version.

Scream Factory announced a few months ago that The Beast Within and Crawlspace will be coming to Blu-ray sometime this year. The Horror Show is also set to join them, and we have all the details on the special features included and those all-important release dates.
We recently reported that the classic silent horror film, Nosferatu, will be available on Blu-ray in the US on November 12th. We now have details on the UK release, which comes in the form of a standard Blu-ray edition or a limited steelbook edition. A newly restored trailer has also come online to promote the re-release of Nosferatu in UK cinemas and you can watch it right here.
