Alamo Drafthouse, in association with Sony Pictures, presents The Shallows "Dive-In" sneak preview screening at Next Level Ride on June 28th. Attendees can watch the new great white shark thriller from floating inner tubes at the event, which will also feature themed activities, gourmet local foods, and drinks:

Press Release: Austin, TX - Thursday, June 2nd, 2016 - Alamo Drafthouse and Sony Pictures want you to face your fears fin-on this summer. If the trailer for THE SHALLOWS caused you to white-knuckle the arms of your seat, then imagine watching the new thriller starring Blake Lively as a stranded surfer facing off against a hungry great white while you yourself float on the open water, your feet dangling deliciously off the edge off of your inner tube.

That's exactly how those brave enough to participate will experience THE SHALLOWS at Alamo's exclusive "Dive-In" Sneak Preview on June 28th at Next Level Ride in Del Valle, TX, just outside of Austin.

With their signature JAWS ON THE WATER screenings also returning this summer, the Alamo knew they had to seize the opportunity to present THE SHALLOWS in glorious fourth wall-breaking terror, too.

"As soon as we saw the teaser for THE SHALLOWS, we knew what we wanted to do: take our JAWS ON THE WATER concept a step further for an insanely fun, completely terrifying one night-only DIVE-IN experience," says Henri Mazza, Alamo VP of Special Events. "I mean, watching THE SHALLOWS for the first time before we know what's going to happen and when, and floating in water? Yikes."

Before the show, there'll be plenty of opportunities for the audience to relax - and steel their nerves -with themed activities, gourmet eats from local food trucks, and drinks in the Lone Star Beer Garden.

In the film, Blake Lively stars as Nancy, a lone surfer on a secluded beach who finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark. Stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy's ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, written by Anthony Jaswinski, and produced by Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem.

All tickets include an exclusively designed keepsake inner tube to float on during the show. After the movie, audience members can take them home to use at the beach, pool, or on their next Texas tubing adventure... or, better yet, to show off as a trophy to prove they survived THE SHALLOWS in the shallows.
