In addition to co-editing the Nights of the Living Dead anthology with George A. Romero, prolific writer/editor Jonathan Maberry also edited the official Aliens anthology Bug Hunt, which now has a release date, official cover art, and intriguing synopsis.

Containing new short stories set in the Alien franchise (according to the Amazon description, the stories take place at varying time periods in the first four Alien films), Aliens: Bug Hunt follows Colonial Marines doing what they do best: staying frosty and taking on Xenomorphs. Titan Books will release Aliens: Bug Hunt on April 18th, and you can check out the official cover art (posted by author Brian Keene on his website) below.

Aliens: Bug Hunt features written works from an eclectic, talented group of writers, including Brian Keene (The Complex), Heather Graham (Phantom Evil), Tim Lebbon (Alien: Invasion), Yvonne Navarro (Afterage), and Christopher Golden (Alien: River of Pain). Check out our previous post to see Maberry's full list of authors for the anthology, and to learn more, visit Titan Books and Amazon.

Synopsis: "Eighteen brand new stories—exclusive to this collection—featuring the Colonial Marines in bloody conflict with the deadly Aliens. ALIENS: BUG HUNT will send the marines into deep space, to alien worlds, to derelict space settlements, and into the nests of the universe’s most dangerous monsters."

About the Author - Derek Anderson

Raised on a steady diet of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Derek has been fascinated with fear since he first saw ForeverWare being used on an episode of Eerie, Indiana.

When he’s not writing about horror as the Senior News Reporter for Daily Dead, Derek can be found daydreaming about the Santa Carla Boardwalk from The Lost Boys or reading Stephen King and Brian Keene novels.
