The film that forever linked Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Bad Moon Rising" with Rick Baker's Oscar-winning effects work is on the road to being reimagined, as it's been announced that Universal Pictures is developing a remake of John Landis' An American Werewolf in London (1981), one of the genre's greatest blends of hair-raising horror and dark humor.

Deadline reports that Max Landis, son of John Landis, will write and is in negotiations to direct a remake of his father's An American Werewolf in London.

Skybound Entertainment's David Alpert (executive producer of The Walking Dead) and Robert Kirkman (creator of The Walking Dead) are producing the remake for Universal Pictures. Additionally, John Landis will executive produce the film, with Todd Garner and Matt Smith also on board as producers.

Further details are unknown at this time, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more news is revealed. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on the remake? Are you excited to see a new take on the horror classic, or do you think Universal should "keep clear of the Moors"?
