If you'd like a look at the actors that are appearing on the Hannibal TV series, NBC has just released official photos of the main cast members. We've included them in our gallery with photos from the first episodes.
NBC recently announced that the first episode of Hannibal would air on April 4th. They skipped the usual pilot process, placing a 13-episode first season order for the series. The show is being developed by Bryan Fuller and takes place before the events of Silence of the Lambs, following Hannibal Lecter and FBI Agent Will Graham:
“Will Graham is a gifted criminal profiler who is on the hunt for a serial killer with the FBI. Graham’s unique way of thinking gives him the astonishing ability to empathize with anyone – even psychopaths. He seems to know what makes them tick. But when the mind of the twisted killer he’s pursuing is too complicated for even Will to comprehend, he enlists the help of Dr. Lecter, one of the premier psychiatric minds in the country. Armed with the uncanny expertise of the brilliant doctor, Will and Hannibal (known as a serial killer only to the audience) form a brilliant partnership and it seems there’s no villain they can’t catch. If Will only knew…”
Hannibal stars Mad Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) as the infamous cannibal, along with Hugh Dancy as Agent Will Graham. Laurence Fishburne is playing Agent Jack Crawford, who is in charge of the Behavioral Science Unit of the FBI and will eventually be responsible for tracking down Hannibal Lecter. Other actors who will be appearing on the show include Eddie Izzard, Gillian Anderson, Gina Torres, Lance Henriksen, Molly Shannon, Ellen Greene and Chelan Simmons.
