Books:

The Complete History of the Return of the Living Dead (Reissue coming out on 12/13)

For the first time in twenty-five years, the cast and crew of all five films in the cult horror-comedy franchise reveal the stories behind the movies’ making in their own words, going into detail about life on the sets of some of the most fraught productions in cinema history, and the feuds, controversies, legal battles, and sackings that plagued the filmmakers.

Supported by dozens of cast and crew members including Dan O’Bannon, Linnea Quigley, Don Calfa, Brian Yuzna, Aimee Lynn Chadwick, William Butler, John Penny, Brian Peck, William Stout, William Munns, Ken Wiederhorn and many more, The Complete History of the Return of the Living Dead features hundreds of previously unreleased behind-the-scenes photographs and exclusive art work. This eye-catching, comprehensive and unique book is the ultimate celebration of The Return of the Living Dead franchise and all those who contributed to its creation.

Artwork:

If you’re on the lookout for some killer artwork, be sure to check out Quiltface Studios, as they have a great assortment of designs that celebrate cult and horror cinema. I pretty much dug their entire inventory, but their Night of the Creeps, Halloween II, and Silent Night, Deadly Night prints really caught my eye. Quiltface also creates enamel pins, so be sure to check out their entire online store.

Vinyl Pick of the Day:

Star Trek 50th Anniversary Starfleet Insignia-Shaped Die-Cut Vinyl 12” Single: Limited Edition (La-La Land Records)

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the legendary Star Trek franchise, La-La Land Records proudly announces the STAR TREK 50th ANNIVERSARY STARFLEET INSIGNIA-SHAPED DIE-CUT 12’’ VINYL SINGLE, featuring Star Trek: The Original Series Season One and Season Three Main Title themes on 180 gram, gold-colored vinyl, die-cut in a shape inspired by the iconic Starfleet Insignia.

In 1966, the Season One Main Title from Star Trek: The Original Series beamed throughout the heavens for the very first time, heralding the launch of the Starship Enterprise and a television program that would weave its way into the human experience forever. That defining moment is captured and celebrated on this very special, collectible release.

Die-cut from a 12’’ vinyl disc, this Starfleet Insignia-shaped single features The Main Title (Season Three – Soprano Version, long ending, stereo) on Side A (1:01), and The Main Title (Season One – Cello Version, short ending, mono) on Side B (0:51). The golden-hued single stands 10 3/8’’ tall and 6 ¼’’ wide, and is housed in an attractive jacket showcasing the iconic Starship Enterprise in fight, within the vast wonders of space.

Apparel:

Today’s clothing selections come from the fiends over at Video Nasties, who have been popping up a lot lately in my Twitter feed (which is how I discovered them a few months ago). For those of you looking for a festive gift, this Black Christmas holiday shirt should work great, or for those of you wanting something more straightforward in the horror department, check out this Doctor Loomis shirt or their excellent Freddy’s Revenge shirt (which you don’t see getting too many tributes via apparel). The design that really won me over, though, was VN’s simple Tenebrae shirt, and they have many more horror-ific designs, too.

Enamel Pins:

We’ve already showcased the artwork of 100% Soft earlier in this year’s Gift Guide, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t also share their adorable pins as well. If you’re a Mad Max lover, you may want to add their Fury Road Warboy pin to your collections, or maybe this tribute to Jack Burton or this Walking Dead 2-Piece pin set will tickle your fancy.

Collectibles:

The Zombie Plant Grow Kit

The Zombie Plant Kit contains 6 soil pellets packed in a black coffin-like container, which perfectly suits the “zombie theme”. Also included are zombie plant seeds (Mimosa pudica), making it a complete DIY gardening pack.

The Zombie Plant grow indoors and it does not need much maintenance after watering.

Chia Zombie Arm

Decorating is a scream with Chia Pet Zombies in your Haunted House. The perfect novelty gift for any season! Easy to grow Zombie plant.

Kids' Korner:

If you’re looking for some attire for the tiny terrors in your life, you’ll definitely want to visit Punk Baby Clothes (My Baby Rocks) which specializes in eclectic baby and toddler apparel. They feature an assortment of great clothing options, but their Halloween section is a treasure trove for anyone looking to give their kiddos some awesome horror-centric garb this holiday season.

Etsy Spotlight:

We’ve focused on a lot of women’s jewelry in our various Etsy Spotlights over the course of the 2016 Holiday Gift Guide, so for today we’re going to show a little love to those of the male persuasion (although women could probably wear these confidently, too). The creators behind Alex Fox Jewelry Studio make some killer pieces, including these Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers pendants or this striking Creature from the Black Lagoon ring.
