Black Christmas: Collector’s Edition (Scream Factory, Blu-ray) – Comes out on 12/13

If this movie doesn’t make your skin crawl…it’s on too tight!

The college town of Bedford is receiving an unwelcome guest this Christmas. As the residents of sorority house Pi Kappa Sig prepare for the festive season, a stranger begins to stalk the house.

A series of obscene phone calls start to plague the residents of the sorority and it becomes clear that a psychopath is homing in on the sisters with dubious intentions. And though the police try to trace the calls, they discover that nothing is as it seems during this Black Christmas.

Directed by Bob Clark (A Christmas Story, Porky’s) and starring a fantastic cast that includes Margot Kidder (Superman), Olivia Hussey (Romeo & Juliet), John Saxon (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Keir Dullea (2001: A Space Odyssey), Black Christmas finally comes to Blu-ray in a definitive presentation of the holiday horror classic.

Creepshow 2: Limited Edition (Arrow Video, Blu-ray) – Comes out on 12/13

WHEN THE CURTAIN GOES UP THE TERROR BEGINS

Horror titans George A. Romero and Stephen King deliver yet another fiendish selection of blood-curdling tales in Creepshow 2 - now newly remastered in 2K!

In "Old Chief Wood'nhead", a group of young hoodlums face retribution from an unlikely source after looting a local hardware store. Meanwhile, "The Raft" sees a group of horny teens wishing they'd read the warning signs first before taking a dip in a remote lake. Finally, an uptight businesswoman finds herself with some unwanted company following a hit-and-run incident in "The Hitch-hiker".

Whilst retaining the EC comic book flavour that made the original such a hit, Creepshow 2, this time directed by long-time Romero collaborator Michael Gornick, is a decidedly darker and grimmer affair than its predecessor and remains one of the greatest horror anthologies of all time.

Books:

The Scarlet Gospels

The Scarlet Gospels takes readers back many years to the early days of two of Barker's most iconic characters in a battle of good and evil as old as time: The long-beleaguered detective Harry D'Amour, investigator of all supernatural, magical, and malevolent crimes faces off against his formidable, and intensely evil rival, Pinhead, the priest of hell. Barker devotees have been waiting for The Scarlet Gospels with bated breath for years, and it's everything they've begged for and more. Bloody, terrifying, and brilliantly complex, fans and newcomers alike will not be disappointed by the epic, visionary tale that is The Scarlet Gospels. Barker's horror will make your worst nightmares seem like bedtime stories. The Gospels are coming. Are you ready?

Artwork:

Today’s artwork comes from one of our sponsors, Duddy in Motion, as I thought it would be a fun way to close out this year’s Gift Guide. I’ve been following DiM on social for a while, which is why I had artist Dustin Pace create something special for all of this year’s giveaway winners. If you want to see more of his work, check out this recent art he created to celebrate The Exorcist television series, his Sleepaway Camp III print, or you can even purchase the Joyce from Stranger Things print, too, directly from DiM.

Vinyl Pick of the Day:

Dead Ringers - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP (Mondo)

Mondo as part of their on-going collaboration with Howe Records, are proud to present the next in their Howard Shore / David Cronenberg series: Dead Ringers.

Based on the novel Twins by Bari Wood and Jack Geasland, Dead Ringers tells the story of identical twin gynecologists—suave Elliot and sensitive Beverly, bipolar sides of one personality—who share the same practice, the same apartment, and the same women. It is a chilling tale, but a high-water mark for the shared filmography of Cronenberg and Shore.

Shore's score creates a beautiful yet mysterious atmosphere. However, Shore uses the beauty of a string orchestra to represent the sinister. Howard Shore has said that “the music in Dead Ringers works all around the edges. It’s all about subtext.” Shore won the Genie Award for the Dead Ringers score.

We are thrilled to be highlighting Dead Ringers on vinyl for the first time, and featuring original artwork by Randy Ortiz. Pressed on 180 Gram Red Vinyl.

Apparel:

Today’s featured apparel comes from NeatoShop, where you can pick up this badass Ugly Slasher sweater, or even this fun shirt that features The Tall Man from Phantasm. And for those of you who like to add a little bit of whimsy to your horror clothes, check out this shirt that celebrates The Thing by way of Dr. Seuss.

If you’re looking for some toy-related gift ideas, check out the Monstarz Re-Animator 3.75" scale retro action figure or this Monstarz Critters Space Crite Version 2 Collector's vinyl figure.
