The demons of "The Further" now have another human to haunt. We recently shared that Stefanie Scott had joined the cast of Insidious Chapter 3, the directorial debut from the franchise's co-star and writer Leigh Whannell. Now veteran actor Dermot Mulroney is attached to play a big role in the third entry in the demonic paranormal series.

Director/writer Leigh Whannell announced via Twitter that Dermot Mulroney had been cast in Insidious Chapter 3, due out in theaters on April 3rd, 2015:

"HUGELY excited to officially announce that great actor/great human Dermot Mulroney has been cast as one of the leads in Insidious Chapter 3!"

It's unknown at this time what type of character Mulroney (The Grey, My Best Friend's Wedding) will play in the film, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details develop.

Leigh Whannell takes over the director's chair for the third chapter of the horror franchise from genre guru James Wan, who helmed the first two Insidious entries before taking the director’s chair on the upcoming Fast & Furious 7. Not only has Whannell collaborated with James Wan on multiple projects over the years, but he wrote the first two Insidious movies and had a role in them as Specs. He’ll be both writing and directing Insidious Chapter 3, and it’s likely he’ll be back as Specs as well.
