Over twelve years ago, a British Army unit discovered what lives in the shadows in Neil Marshall's directorial debut, Dog Soldiers. First announced in 2013, Scream Factory's Collector's Edition Blu-ray / DVD of the cult werewolf film was initially set for a summer of 2014 release before being pushed back to March 10th, and now it's been revealed that fans will have to wait a bit longer still, though it should be worth it.

Scream Factory will now release their Dog Soldiers Collector's Edition Blu-ray / DVD on June 23rd. The reason for the delay lies in director Neil Marshall's discovery of film elements that will aid Scream Factory in their creation of a new HD transfer. Bonus features have not yet been revealed. Here's the official announcement from Scream Factory:

"We regret to inform you that we are moving the release date for DOG SOLDIERS again…but hopefully for good reason. The new official street date is now 6/23/15.

The film’s Director, Neil Marshall, has recently found potentially better film elements for us to work with so that we can create a new HD transfer. In order for us to do this, we need more time and which is why a delay was prompted.

We really debated postponing this underrated gem again but we know that many of you have requested a new transfer (better than the previous Blu-ray release) and we want to exhaust every avenue to bring one to you. Once we look at the elements, we’ll keep you posted on the status of it. We hope you understand our position on this and we appreciate your patience."
