Centered on thieves who must stay silent to stay alive, Don't Breathe has made a lot of positive noise at this year's SXSW. Fans looking forward to seeing the latest film from Evil Dead (2013) director Fede Alvarez can now mark their calendars, as Ghost House Pictures and Screen Gems have announced the movie's official release date.

Don't Breathe is scheduled to hit theaters on August 26th, 2016, according to EW, who also revealed the movie's new teaser poster (shown below).

Starring Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, Daniel Zovatto, and Stephen Lang, Don't Breathe was directed by Alvarez from a screenplay he wrote with Rodo Sayagues.

Synopsis: "A group of teens break into a blind man’s home thinking they’ll get away with the perfect crime. They’re wrong."
