Tomorrow sees the release of Green Wake #7, which continues the new "Lost Children" story arc. Green Wake writer and co-creator Kurtis Wiebe shared his thoughts on issue 7 with Daily Dead and we've included it for you to read, along with artist Riley Rossmo's favorite panel:

Kurtis Wiebe: "With Green Wake #7 I wanted to begin the slow revelation about what I’d hinted at in Issue #6: the children. There are a number of plots unfolding in this arc, we have: Micah’s Story, Morley’s return, Esther’s Secret, the new murders and, of course, the creepy kids.

While they don’t make an appearance within the first pages, we get a glimpse into the situation they were in before they fled into the wild and ended up in a very bad situation on the ice. The concept is based around real events that happened in Canada, a black mark on our history. It was the Residential school program where the government took First Nations children away from their families (often against their will) to civilize them and teach them about the Christian God. It was a traumatic experience for all the families involved and it’s something that still affects people to this day.

It’s a heavy topic but one I hope I can bring some awareness to through the five issues of this second arc.
We also get some answers to the origin of Green Wake in this issue, a fairly solid look at the mythology through a specific type of lens (you’ll know when you see it.) There’s a lot of content in this issue, so I hope you enjoy what we’re building up to, which is going to be a very interesting finale."

Below is a large version of artist/co-creator Riley Rossmo’s favorite panel from issue 7:

Riley Rossmo: "...this is my favorite panel hands down, I tired to keep Hokema looking innocent even though he's engaged in something fairly horrific, I tried to make his expression very matter of fact."
