Reanimating the dead may seem unnatural and downright scary to someone who's watched the human race become dinner for the living dead in countless zombie movies. For a group of medical students in The Lazarus Effect, though, reversing death could lead to a new understanding of life. But as evidenced in the film's first trailer, scientific discoveries can come with painful sacrifices.

A Blumhouse Productions film from Relativity Studios, The Lazarus Effect was directed by David Gelb (Jiro Dreams of Sushi) off a screenplay by Luke Dawson (2008’s Shutter) and Jeremy Slater (The Fantastic Four reboot). The film follows "a group of medical students who discover a way to bring dead patients back to life", and it stars Mark Duplass, Olivia Wilde, Donald Glover, Evan Peters and Sarah Bolger.
