We have a casting update for the Hannibal TV series, revealing who will be playing the female lead in the show. Caroline Dhavernas (Devil, pictured below) will play the role of "a psychiatric protege of Hannibal Lecter’s who teaches psychology at Georgetown University and is consulting with the FBI on criminal profiling when she introduces her mentor to Laurence Fishburne’s Jack Crawford."
If you missed the previous casting news, Caroline Dhavernas will be joined by Hugh Dancy as FBI agent Will Graham. Laurence Fishburne is playing FBI Agent Jack Crawford, who is in charge of the Behavioral Science Unit of the FBI and will eventually be given the job of tracking down Hannibal Lecter.
As for who is playing the famous title character, Casino Royale's Mad Mikkelsen has been cast, with David Slade (30 Days of Night, Eclipse) directing the pilot episode. 13 one-hour episodes have already been ordered for the first season and here is what you can expect from the initial story arc:
