Haven Season 4 Interview - Haven continues to grow in popularity and had a big presence at Comic-Con this year. With fan events, a party, and their first Comic-Con panel, there were plenty of opportunities to catch up with the cast of Haven, and we sat down with Eric Balfour, Emily Rose, and Lucas Bryant during a round table interview session to get new details on Haven Season 4:

Eric, in Season 3, I really enjoyed the fact that we were never quite sure if your character would become the villain. Is it fun for you to play both sides?

Eric Balfour: That is exactly what I love about the character. I love the complexity that he is always sort of walking the line and dancing around his own conscience. It’s a fun character to play because he can alternate between being selfish and altruistic.

One of my favorite Season 3 episodes was when Audrey and Duke went to Colorado. Is there anything in the new season where we see the three of you going to an exotic location? It seems like the Havenites need a bit of a vacation.

Emily Rose: Yeah, I would say they should do that.

Lucas Bryant: Yeah, I say we should get on your boat and go somewhere.

Eric Balfour: I’m always happy when we get on my boat! I think the furthest that I traveled this season, and I’m not going to say how or why, but I had spent some time this season in a mental institution in Boston.

Are the troubles going to spawn somewhere else? Are they going to go beyond Haven at some point?

Emily Rose: It’s kind of the chicken and the egg scenario with that right? Are the troubles only in  Haven or do they happen outside of it? I don’t know… I don’t think so…

Lucas Bryant: I think this year we are seeing the rules change or just realizing that the rules aren’t necessarily what we thought they were, so I think anything is possible at this point. We just started to see that we can’t control anything anymore, and I’d like to go to Boston for an episode.

Congratulations on your first child, Emily. Spending so much time on the set, would you like to see your son have a cameo in Haven someday?

Emily Rose: My son is only two and a half months. He’s super tiny obviously, but I mean we talk about it all the time. Would we be okay with it or not?

Lucas Bryant: I’m Canadian my wife is Australian, so she says we are first generation American immigrants, and as good immigrants our child is going to be a doctor or a lawyer. But, my daughter was saying the other day she wanted to go to work with me on Haven.

I said maybe if there is a kids role coming up we could talk about it. She said that she’d like three episodes, so she’s angling for a bigger character arc… I think maybe she should not be an actress, but my agent in the future. She’s reading the fine print at home.

Eric, for Haven fans that follow your music, do you have any projects coming up?

Eric Balfour: Eventually, yes. I’m working on a feature script right now that’s a love story about two musicians in a band. It’s going to be a while because we are working on the script right now.

There was a Halloween episode last season and it was shot in an actual haunted location. Will we be seeing something like that again?

Eric Balfour: It’s interesting that they switch it up every year. One year we did a Christmas special, but there’s no specific Halloween episode this year.

Emily Rose: We are premiering on Friday the 13th in September.
