’Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a... well, anyone, because they're all dead! A Q&A with actress Jessica Cameron from All Through the House kicks off today's Horror Highlights! Also: details on Josh Hasty's 31 documentary, In Hell Everybody Loves Popcorn, Ghostbusters 101 comic book series details, and Wizard World's new partnership with Front Gate Tickets.

All Through the House Q&A with Jessica Cameron: All Through the House: "The Christmas-themed horror film ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE made its U.S. debut on all major VOD platforms October 4, 2016 and is released by Gravitas Ventures. VOD Platforms include: iTunes, Vudu, Google Play, Playstation 4, Amazon Instant Video, and Microsoft Xbox. The DVD/Blu-ray version is available on Amazon."

"A deranged masked Santa-Slayer comes to town for some yuletide-terror. He leaves behind a bloody trail of mutilated bodies as he hunts his way to the front steps of the town's most feared and notorious home."

Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Jessica. What attracted you to the role of Sheila in your new movie, All Through the House?

Jessica Cameron: I loved Sheila because she felt so real. Too often the female characters in horror films are written as stereotypes, but Sheila always felt like a real, flawed, human being. I loved her authenticity.

In the movie, your character and her friends are targeted by a killer dressed as Santa Claus. Was this a pretty intense, physical role for you?

Jessica Cameron: The trickiest part was the shower scene from a technical perspective. Shower scenes are always harder than most people realize because it gets quite slippery in there, and when you add extra bodies, makeup, and equipment… well, it's harder than you would think!

When you look back at your time on set, is there a particularly funny or memorable moment that stands out?

Jessica Cameron: I don’t want to give too much away (cause everyone reading this should go watch the film!), but at one point my eyesight for my character becomes challenging, and we had a lot of fun with it on set. We all kept cracking jokes and such. I shot my scenes at the end of the shoot and they made me feel like I had been with them the entire time.

What types of scares can fans expect to experience while watching All Through the House?

Jessica Cameron: Fans will see everything you expect to see in a classic slasher film. The kills are bloody and a lot of fun, the women attractive, and everything was done with ’80s homage and style.

What was the most challenging or fun scene to film in All Through the House?

Jessica Cameron: It’s always hard to work with children and in the film, I have a young son. In the film we try to shoot out the children first and make sure that they are entertained while on set, which can be a challenge. Luckily for all of us, this child was really good, knew his lines, and was one hell of an actor. It was refreshing to see a child so well-behaved. I don’t have any children in real life, so it’s always fun to pretend for film.

What was it like working with writer/director Todd Nunes?

Jessica Cameron: Todd is the best kind of horror director, one that is also a huge horror fan. His passion for the horror genre is impressive. Working with him was an absolute pleasure, as he knew exactly what he wanted, and had this vision from the start. He understands horror movie beats and pacing, which is crucial in a holiday slasher.

Do you have any favorite holiday movies—horror or otherwise—that you like to watch this time of year?

Jessica Cameron: As a matter of fact I do, and you can watch me count down my favorite Top 10 holiday slasher films with Todd Nunes here: https://youtu.be/qfYgkpCVgGQ. Also, honorable mention to Die Hard, which is a fave holiday film (not a slasher, hence why it is not on the above countdown).

With All Through the House now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD platforms, what acting and directing projects do you have on deck that you can tease, and where can our readers find you online?

Jessica Cameron: Mania, my fucked-up lesbian love story, is finishing its festival run, so look for more info on the release. An Ending, Lilith, and Kill The Pa are all in post while Truth or Dare is getting ready for its US release. Please join me on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ActressJessicaCameron) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/JessicaCameron_) to stay up on all these and more.

2017 will bring Besties, American Guinea Pig: Song Of Solomon, Red Eye, Solitary Confinement, The Tombs: Rise of the Damned, news on Truth or Dare 2 and more!

The ghostbusting team of Holtzmann, Yates, Tolan, and Gilbert will cross paths with Venkman, Stantz, Zeddemore, and Spengler – in a brand new comic book series set in the long-running IDW continuity from the fan-favorite, critically-acclaimed, and prolific Ghostbusters comics creative team of Erik Burnham, Dan Schoening, and Luis Antonio Delgado who have written and drawn the IDW comics for the past five years.

Shortly after the classic Ghostbusters decide to get back to their roots of teaching the next generation of ‘busters, an inter-dimensional mishap merges together their universe with that of the new crew of paranormal police. Now, with the fate of two dimensions in the balance (maybe more?!), can these distinctly different teams come together to repel the greatest supernatural challenge any of them have ever faced? They’re going to have to find a way if there’s any hope for survival. Prepare for mass hysteria of the dogs and cats living together variety because this time everyone… ANSWERS THE CALL!

"I’ve always wanted to meld the two worlds,” said Ivan Reitman, Co-founder, Ghost Corps. “It would be great fun to see them all together for the first time and I think it’s important for the future that we bring it back into a single universe.”

“When we found out Sony and Ghost Corps were ready to let IDW play in the Ghostbusters: Answer the Call sandbox, we were beyond ecstatic,” said series editor Tom Waltz. “Abby, Erin, Patty, and Holtzmann are such fun characters, and to be able to have them join forces with the original ‘busting crew (as well as our expansive roster of fan-favorite supporting characters) is a wonderful creative opportunity for all involved. And in the undeniably capable hands of Erik Burnham, Dan Schoening, and Luis Delgado, I’m confident it will prove to be a proton blast of epic proportions -- for both old and new fans of this sensational franchise.”

Ghostbusters continues to resonate with fans and maintaining a fresh narrative is critical to our long-term consumer products strategy,” said Jamie Stevens, EVP, Sony Pictures Entertainment Worldwide Consumer Products. “We are thrilled to have IDW as our partner. Aside from an incredible creative team, they have continued to bring big ideas that deliver on that promise.”

Ghostbusters 101 will answer the call this March with variant covers by Erica Henderson and Tim Lattie. The main covers by Schoening and Delgado will each be part of six inter-connected images featuring the full cast of characters."
