Tamika Jones returns with the Indie Spotlight, highlighting the latest indie horror news sent our way. In this edition, we have the first details on Die, Maniacs, Die!, a new clip from ThanksKilling 3, information on Convention of the Dead, and more:

Die, Maniacs, Die! to Begin Production in 2013: "Producers Andrea Albin and Scott Spiegel of Fatality Films will begin production in 2013 on their latest venture "Die, Maniacs, Die!" written by Corey Schubert and Eric La Fuente.

This rollicking gore fest focuses on the town of New Thetford and the hidden secrets that it keeps, including those secrets that house themselves in the form of deranged and disfigured maniacs.

Years after the death of her parents, Amelia follows in their investigative footsteps only to find herself and her team caught in the horrifying traps of New Thetford's best kept secret. Amelia, with the help of her older brother Orlando, must now find a way to make it out alive before they too become maniacs."

Kill Me Now: "Kill Me Now chronicles one unforgettable night in the lives of a ragtag group of small-town teens. It's a night that will prove equally unforgettable for the sinister Driller Killer (Brett Fancy – “EastEnders,” “Luther”), a deranged serial killer bent on ridding the world of vapidity and dumbassedness (Everyone Else). When he comes upon the kids' all-night graduation party--conveniently held at a cabin deep in the woods--he finds both in spades. Unfortunately, Mr. Killer is about to learn something crappy bumper stickers learned long ago: stupid people can be deadly in large numbers. Kill Me Now blends horror, comedy, depth and plain jackassery to form a brew so potent you won't know whether to laugh, scream, or think about, like, life and stuff."

Kill Me Now will be available for digital download and on demand in January. Take a look at the trailer below:

Comic Book Afterlife Sandy Relief Zombie Portraits:  "Comic Book Afterlife will be releasing a SIGNED limited-edition CHARITY POSTER. I will be using your love of all things zombie-related to raise money for the victims of the one-two punches of Hurricane Sandy and Nor’easter Athena. So many of us have lost our homes, our jobs, and some have lost their lives.

Each poster is printed on 11×17″ 100-lb gloss paper and will cost $15.00 USD. A high resolution image of you (at least 300 dpi), preferably making a scary face is taken. The picture of your choosing is then dropped into Adobe Illustrator. A carefully hand-drawn outline of your face is done with a brush. Then, begins the process of erasing and replacing your charming and/or rugged good looks with gaping wounds, torn flesh, fragments of bone, sinew, and bloodstains. After that, color and shade is added to your portrait along with a background color behind you. Each portrait takes 2-6 hours to complete. Upon completion, you will be alerted via email (or facebook, if you prefer) that your portrait is ready. A .jpg of the finished product will be attached to the email as well. Upon receipt of payment, you will receive a vectorized .png and .pdf of the file so that you can take it and blow it up without losing any integrity in the process. For your convenience, PayPal is accepted, and you will receive my account information when the portrait is complete.

100% of the proceeds will go to benefit the shore towns of Monmouth and Ocean counties that look like they’ve been nuked."

Convention of the Dead Wraps Filming in UK: "The film, which is now in post-production, is the first full-length feature written, produced and directed by Kelvin Beer and tells the story of a group of geeky friends who find themselves thrown headfirst in the deep-end when they attend the biggest Sci-Fi Convention around… Fanatically looking forward to the event for weeks, little do they know they are walking into a real life zombie apocalypse!

The film stars fresh new UK talent, some of whom have previously featured in films such as Axed and the Harry Potter franchise, but the real stars of the show are the favorite cult film and comic book icons as you have never seen them before!"

The Imposter out now on iTunes: "Following a successful theatrical run earlier this year, director Bart Layton’s THE IMPOSTER is available today, Tuesday, November 13, in an early digital download window exclusively on iTunes (www.iTunes.com/TheImposter). The film, which has been critically lauded at festivals around the globe, has gone on to be nominated for numerous Cinema Eye and British Independent Film Awards.

Unforgettable, chilling and emotional, THE IMPOSTER tells the gripping true story of a Texan boy who went missing in 1994 and was miraculously found three and a half years later thousands of miles away in southern Spain. Despite glaring inconsistencies in his physical appearance, the boy's family brought their long-lost "son" home to restart his life in Texas. Questions soon arise: how could the Barclay’s blonde, blue-eyed son have returned with darker skin and eyes? How could his personality and even accent have changed so dramatically? Truth soon proves stranger than fiction as the real story emerges. Universally critically acclaimed and nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, this is a jaw-dropping story about the lies we want to believe and the truths we choose to construct."

Final Clip from ThanksKilling 3: In this clip, Turkie uses his Native American black magic to take control of Yomi’s mind.

“In “ThanksKilling 3,” the fowl-mouthed villain Turkie is back and hacking his way to find the last copy of “ThanksKilling 2” which has landed in the hands of a group of disturbingly crude puppets.

The death toll rises as Turkie carves through the likes of Flowis the rapping grandma, Rhonda the bisexual space worm, Yomi the puppet in search of her mind, and their equally ridiculous friends who all travel through fantastical settings such as the FeatherWorld and Turkey Hell. With the guidance of Uncle Donny (Dan Usaj), the wig-wearing inventor of the PluckMaster 3000, Jefferson (Joe Hartzler), Head of Security at ThanksgivingLand, and a WiseTurkey, the gatekeeper to the FeatherWorld, our collection of raunchy characters hope to fend off the murderous rampage of Turkie, all while trying to help Yomi find her mind.Directed by Jordan Downey, produced by Ricky Fosheim, and written by Kevin Stewart, Jordan Downey & Mike Will Downey, this hilariously gory sequel to cult hit “ThanksKilling” is the first movie to skip its own sequel. Gobble, Gobble, Motherf***er!”

ThanksKilling 3 is now available on iTunes and Amazon Instant Video.
