Roadside US Acquisition Details: "Roadside tells the story of Dan and Mindy Summers, who are on a road trip along a desolate mountain highway. When Dan is forced to exit the SUV to remove a dead tree blocking their path, their journey takes a turn. They suddenly find themselves held hostage on the side of the road, and trapped in their car by a mysterious gunman. They must fight for their lives in a sadistic game of cat and mouse set against a backdrop of numbing cold, pitch darkness and raw terror. Roadside drips with suspense until the very last frame.

Image Entertainment has acquired all US rights to the action thriller Roadside. Written and directed by Eric England (Madison County, Contracted), the film stars Ace Marrero (“Scorpion,” “Body of Proof”), Katie Stegeman (Madison County, Contracted), Lionel D. Carson (“The Unit”) and Jack E. Curenton (“Tim and Eric Awesome Show”). Mark Ward, RLJ Entertainment’s Senior Vice President of Acquisitions for the Image brands, made the announcement today.

“The suspense and timing of the scenes on this film hark back to the days of Hitchcock,” said Ward. "These are the elements audiences are looking for in a thriller and we're excited to be working with Eric, Daniel and Ace again.”

The deal was negotiated by Ward, and Image Entertainment Director of Business and Legal Affairs, Grace Santos Feeney. Elias Axume, of Premiere Entertainment Group, brokered the deal on behalf of the filmmakers, who are also handling foreign sales.

Roadside is another joint project produced by Ace Marrero of Swim with the Fish Productions, Daniel F. Dunn of Dunn-Rite Productions and Eric England of Southern Fried Films."

Muck Official Trailer: "Anchor Bay Entertainment has unveiled the first official Theatrical Trailer for Muck, as well as [a] new exclusive poster art. Horror and gore fans alike should feast their eyes on this freshest take yet on the Muck trailer.

Speaking of Feast, the Muck Kickstarter campaign to fund the prequel, Muck: Feast of Saint Patrick, is still under way, and recently surpassed the $200,000 mark on the way to the goal of raising a quarter of a million dollars. Just like the original, the Muck prequel will boast death-defying stunts and practical effects, shot without the use of CGI – all in 4K Ultra HD.

The daring stunt-woman in this case is Alexa Marcigliano, and her courage is palpable in the clip, sprinting O.S. through the pitch-black living room before bouncing on a trampoline, then hurling herself through the 4 x 6 picture window, out into the night. To say that hitting her mark was highly important is obviously an understatement. Jump too short, and Alexa would land head-first on the edge of the porch outside; too high, and she would hit window frame; too long, and she would overshoot the padding buried beneath the grass outside. And, since there was only room in the budget for one window, it had to be done in a single take.

Muck stars horror legend Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th Part VII, VIII, Jason Goes to Hell, and Jason X), Lachlan Buchanan (Pretty Little Liars), and Bryce Draper (Bound), and co-stars 2012 Playboy Playmate of the Year Jaclyn Swedberg, Puja Mohindra, and Laura Jacobs. The middle chapter of an independently financed horror trilogy, Muck will be unleashed in theaters on Friday the 13th, March 2015."

Red Christmas Trailer and Release Details: "Steve Rudzinski, director of Everyone Must Die! and Captain Z & The Terror of Leviathan, just released a new horror film called Red Christmas.

It's about a serial killer, Tara, who has been killing 3 men every December for years. She decides to make basically a "how to" video this year, showcasing how she was able to get away with it (in case she is ever caught). She shows every step of capture, torture, and murder. A wholesome Christmas film for the season!

It gets into the mind of a serial killer, caring as much about the "why" as much as the "how" and features only practical effects.

The film is currently on sale at the following website. [Available on] DVD, Bluray, and Limited Edition Bluray, and music soundtrack (hand numbered)."

About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
