"See you in The Further." In a new video from Blumhouse, actress Lin Shaye reveals that Insidious: Chapter 4 is moving forward and will haunt theaters on October 20th, 2017. In tarot card style, Shaye also announces the movie's writer and director.

According to Blumhouse's video, Insidious: Chapter 4 will be directed by Adam Robitel. An actor, writer, editor and producer, Robitel placed himself on a lot of horror fans' radars with his feature film directorial debut, The Taking of Deborah Logan.

Insidious franchise writer and co-star (and director of the third film) Leigh Whannell will write the screenplay and it's possible that he could return onscreen as paranormal investigator Specs.

Confirmed to reprise her role as parapsychologist Elise Rainier is Lin Shaye. Although the film's timeline hasn't been revealed, fans can expect either a prequel taking place before Elise's fate at the end of the first Insidious, or a sequel with Elise existing in The Further.

Jason Blum, Oren Peli and James Wan will produce Insidious: Chapter 4, with Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Charles Layton on board as executive producers. The film is backed by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions, who will oversee international distribution, while Universal Pictures will take on domestic distribution. Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more updates on Insidious: Chapter 4 ahead of its release on October 20th, 2017.
