The unsettling stares of the psychic children from John Carpenter's Village of the Damned remake will be given a high-definition upgrade in 2016, as Scream Factory has announced a Collector's Edition Blu-ray release of the 1995 film.

From Scream Factory: "We’re pleased to start off December on a high note with the announcement of a future release that’s been requested several times over the years: John’s Carpenter’s 1995 remake of VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED!

This underrated shocker will be making its long overdue appearance on blu-ray late next Spring / early Summer. And, yes, it is planned as a Collector’s Edition (Extras are already in progress.)

Our 2016 schedule is shaping up with lots more surprises. Expect more announcements in the beginning of next year (but we may drop some more this month before the holidays)."

"From the master of suspense, John Carpenter, comes a chilling new version of the sci-fi classic. Something is terribly wrong in the tiny village of Midwich. After an unseen force invades a quiet coastal town, ten women mysteriously find themselves pregnant. Local physician Dr. Alan Chaffee (Christopher Reeve) and government scientist Dr. Susan Verner (Kirstie Alley) join forces when the women simultaneously give birth…and the reign of terror begins."
