We recently reported that Lakeshore Entertainment is developing an Underworld series spin-off film starring the vampire David from Underworld: Awakening, but writer/director Len Wiseman recently revealed that more projects are in development, including another Underworld film following Kate Beckinsale's Selene and a TV series set in the vampire versus Lycan universe.

At New York Comic Con this weekend, IGN interviewed writer/director Len Wiseman (2003's Underworld, 2006's Underworld: Evolution) and asked him about the future of the Underworld franchise. Wiseman said that in addition to the David-centric Underworld: Next Generation (a film that takes its own path from the main series storyline in a way similar to 2009's Underworld: Rise of the Lycans), another Underworld film starring Kate Beckinsale as Death Dealer Selene is in the works.

Wiseman went on to make another big reveal when he mentioned that an Underworld TV series is in development. No official announcements have been made for the latter two projects, but now fans of the franchise have an idea of what could come to fruition in the future.

Theo James (Divergent) stars in the upcoming Underworld: Next Generation, and he will be joined by two yet-to-be-revealed female characters in the core cast. Cory Goodman (Priest, The Last Witch Hunter) is penning Underworld: Next Generation, with Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi producing. Shooting is expected to begin next spring. We'll keep Daily Dead readers updated on all three Underworld projects as more details are unveiled.
