Written by Richard Matheson, based on the stories of Edgar Allan Poe, directed by Roger Corman, and starring Vincent Price in all three of its segments, 1962's Tales of Terror features legendary names of the horror genre, and Kino Lorber has announced they are releasing the star-studded fright film, along with 1968's The Crimson Cult (starring Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee), on Blu-ray next year.

In April of 2015, Kino Lorber will release Tales of Terror on Blu-ray/DVD and The Crimson Cult on Blu-ray. No special features have been announced at this time, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated on further announcements.

Tales of Terror is also now available in the UK from Arrow Films as part of their Roger Corman/Vincent Price home media release package, Six Gothic Tales.

Tales of Terror (1962, synopsis via Blu-ray.com):

"This triple treat of terror is a three-episode "blood-dripping package that includes murder, necrophilia, dementia, live burials, open tombs, exhumation, resurrection, zombies and feline vengeance," resulting in nothing less than "juicy entertainment" and "spine-chilling cinema" (Cue). Mix in three of horrordom's greatest villains, Vincent Price, Peter Lorre and Basil Rathbone, and you've got a shocker you dare not to watch alone!

Price stars in all three episodes, including Morella, in which a man is haunted after blaming his young daughter for the death of his wife. In The Black Cat, a pair of illicit lovers are buried alive by a jealous husband, and in The Case Of M. Valdemar, a sorcerer's spell backfires when he sentences an innocent man to living hell."

Directed by Roger Corman, Tales of Terror stars Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Basil Rathbone, Maggie Pierce, Leona Gage, Joyce Jameson, and Debra Paget.

The Crimson Cult, aka Curse of the Crimson Altar (1968, synopsis via Blu-ray.com):

"In this spooky thriller, an evil sorcerer invites an innocent young man and his girl friend to his dark and scary mansion. The two have no idea that the black magician is planning to sacrifice the young man to atone for the evil misdeeds of his ancestors who 200 years ago burned the wizard's relative, a witch, at the stake. A crazy party precedes the gruesome ritual. Fortunately for the young couple the sage Professor March (80-year-old Boris Karloff in one of his final films) is also a skilled magic maker and is there to save them."

Directed by Vernon Swell, The Crimson Cult stars Boris Karloff, Christopher Lee, Barbara Steele, Mark Eden, and Michael Gough.
