After making $35 million globally (on a budget of just under $5 million) since hitting theaters last week, Lights Out is officially getting a sequel from New Line Cinema.

Deadline reports the news of Lights Out 2, which will be directed by David F. Sandberg and written by Eric Heisserer—reuniting the creative duo behind the original movie, which is based on Sandberg's 2013 short film of the same name. James Wan and Lawrence Grey will also return to produce the follow-up film.

Further information on the Lights Out sequel is not known at this time, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated on future details.

With Lights Out currently in theaters, Sandberg is hard at work on his next film, the haunted doll sequel to 2014's Annabelle.
