Halloween may be over, but watching horror films and shorts never goes out of season. If you're looking to add a dash of vintage-style creepiness to your weekend, then you might be interested in checking out Vault of the Macabre, a collection of four horror shorts featuring poems narrated by Clive Barker and Elvira.

The official Vault of the Macabre synopsis, from writer/director Darren Field:

"An anthology of 4 short horror/macabre poems, narrated by Elvira (Mistress of the dark), Clive Barker (creator of Hellraiser, Nightbreed, candyman) Adam Baldwin (Firefly, serenity, chuck, angel) Samantha Newark (Voice of Jem - Jem & The Holograms) Larry Kenney ( Voice of Lion’o - Thundercats). An original Score from composer Russell Bell and featuring James Unsworth and Jane Elsmore.

“The cautionary tale of Maudlin Monroe”

“The macabre madness of Mortulia Morose”

“Maurice the morose clown”

“Dave the demented hermit”

Following on from my “Shoot a short a month” endeavour last year, this short is a continuation of my learning curve as a filmmaker. I was fortunate enough to get these amazing talents to lend their voices to my project and bring my stories to life. Huge thanks to everyone involved."

When he’s not writing about horror as the Senior News Reporter for Daily Dead, Derek can be found daydreaming about the Santa Carla Boardwalk from The Lost Boys or reading Stephen King and Brian Keene novels.
