With only two episodes remaining in the third season of The Strain, a new preview video shows that it's "do or die" time for New York City survivors struggling to stave off the strigoi.

Titled "Do or Die," the next episode of The Strain airs on Sunday, October 23rd, at 10:00pm ET on FX. In case you missed it, FX recently renewed The Strain for its fourth and final season.

Episode 309 synopsis: "NYC is falling. Eph and Dutch frantically race to finish their new device to stop the Master before the city is overrun. Justine, Gus, and Angel fight in one last stand to stop the spreading virus. Palmer extracts vengeance for past wrongs but may have crossed the line."

"New York City is a battleground as humans fight for survival against the vampire apocalypse. Though our heroes achieve small victories, they are not winning the war. Beset by personal conflicts – betrayal, disappointment, paranoia – the group splinters as the Master closes in on executing an irreversible transformation of the world.

The ensemble cast stars Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Natalie Brown, Miguel Gomez, Max Charles, Ruta Gedmintas, Rupert Penry-Jones, Samantha Mathis and Joaquín Cosío. The Strain hails from Showrunner/Executive Producer/Director/Writer Carlton Cuse along with Co-Creators/Executive Producers/Writers Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. Gary Ungar, J. Miles Dale, Bradley Thompson, David Weddle and Regina Corrado also serve as Executive Producers. The Strain is produced by FX Productions.”
