Last fall, Janine Lister's Hellraiser cupcakes had such sights to show Daily Dead readers, and now the talented food artist has another creepy and edible creation that is seemingly straight from horror fans' most delectable dreams...

Once again blending her passion for the horror genre with excellent artisan skills, Janine has created an incredible set of A Nightmare on Elm Street cupcakes based on the bladed boogeyman himself, Freddy Krueger. Janine was kind enough to share some of the ingredients for this dessert, as well as how her love of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise (especially the third film, Dream Warriors), inspired her to make these sweet and sinister cupakes:

"Freddy is a widely recognized, iconic character in horror and was one of the films that originally got me further engrossed in horror. I’ve now watched thousands of horror films, but there are still those horror franchises that stand the test of time.

With the Nightmare on Elm Street films, Dream Warriors is my favorite, but more importantly the specific scenes that stand out, such as Freddy using the veins of his victim to control him like a puppet, or Freddy coming through the TV; weirdly enough, I was asked to make a cake for a client in America (but I could not ship it safely) and it was going to be based on this scene.

The cupcakes are chocolate with chocolate buttercream, topped with fondant and my own secret edible blood!"

Janine will have a booth at HorrorCon UK 2016 in South Yorkshire on July 9th and 10th, so be sure to stop by and say "hi" if you're in the area. She'll also be running a raffle for the Scares That Care charity convention (taking place July 22nd–24th), with the Hellraiser and A Nightmare on Elm Street cupcakes as the prizes for the lucky winner.
