Alice returns to divvy out more apocalyptic carnage in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Ahead of the release of the film's first trailer, a new photo and poster give a glimpse into the sixth (and last) installment of Alice's story.

The Final Chapter is scheduled for a January 27th, 2017 release from Screen Gems, and the film will be teased in its first full-length trailer this Tuesday at 12:00pm PT.

To help hold fans over until then, the film's first poster (from IGN via Milla Jovovich) and photo (from EW via IGN) have been revealed, and we have them for Daily Dead readers to check out below.

Speaking with EW, writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson teased what viewers can expect to see in the latest entry to the Resident Evil film franchise that kicked off back in 2002:

“[It’s] almost like an origin story because we’re revealing the truth as to who Alice is."

Be sure to keep an eye on Daily Dead this Tuesday for the official Resident Evil: The Final Chapter trailer. In addition to the photo and poster below, we also have the film's official synopsis and cast information:

"Based on Capcom’s hugely popular video game series comes the final installment in the most successful video game film franchise ever, which has grossed over $1 billion worldwide to date.

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead. Now, she must return to where the nightmare began – The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse."

Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, Rola, Lee Joon-Gi, William Levy, and Iain Glen. The film was produced by Jeremy Bolt, Paul W.S. Anderson, Robert Kulzer, and Samuel Hadida. Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more updates.
