Film fans looking forward to returning to a galaxy far, far away now know what to write in their calendars for December 15th, as the official title for Episode VIII has been revealed as Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Due out in theaters on December 15th and directed by Rian Johnson (Looper, Brick), Star Wars: The Last Jedi cast includes Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Andy Serkis, Billie Lourd, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Jimmy Vee, Laura Dern, Benicio Del Toro, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher.

THE LAST JEDI is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is scheduled for release December 15, 2017."
