It was recently announced that Stephen King would narrate the audiobook version of The Wind Through the Keyhole. In addition, the audiobook would come with a preview for his upcoming sequel to The Shining, titled Doctor Sleep. We recently released a video of Stephen King reading from the first pages of the book, but he says to expect the entire prologue in the upcoming preview:

"Hey, you guys and gals: I've done public readings from next year's Shining sequel a couple of times now, but if you got the idea from any of the blog posts that the audio sample at the end of the forthcoming Wind Through the Keyhole CDs is just the five-minute snippet I read last month in Savannah...think again. It's the entire prologue of the book (called LOCKBOX). It's 25 manuscript pages and runs a little shy of half an hour when read aloud. If you're looking for a return to balls-to-the-wall, keep-the-lights-on horror, get ready. And don't say you weren't warned."

Announced last September, Doctor Sleep follows a 40-something Danny Torrance. It is also said that the book will include a group of traveling vampires referred to as The Tribe. The book is due out in 2013, but the full prologue will be available in The Wind Through the Keyhole audiobook on April 24th.
