They live in the sewers, have insatiable appetites, and are highly skilled with an array of weapons. From a distance, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles seem like antagonists from a fright flick, but a closer look proves otherwise. A toy tinkerer, however, recently reimagined the beloved batch of pizza eaters as iconic horror movie villains who hunger for murder rather than a steamy slice of pepperoni and cheese.

In the 1990's, Playmate released a plethora of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures that displayed the half-shell ninjas in many different outfits—from a samurai's armor to an astronaut's spacesuit.

Dan Polydoris of Chicago Toy Collector took advantage of the eclectic TMNT action figure attire, borrowing items from various figures to build four new Ninja Turtles that imitate the looks of Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, and Michael Myers. Dubbed "Sewer Slashin' TMNT", we have a look at the items and their specs below (via Chicago Toy Collector):

"Donny Krueger:

  • Undercover Don’s hat
