With AMC's The Walking Dead Season 5 premiere right around the corner, many fans are as hungry for details on the new season as a walker is for human flesh. Giving viewers something to chew on is the recent announcement that Tyler James Williams has joined The Walking Dead Season 5 cast to play the curious role of Noah.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tyler James Williams (Go On, Everybody Hates Chris) has joined the ranks of The Walking Dead. It's unclear how big of a role Tyler will play and for what length of time. There are no characters named Noah in Robert Kirkman's comic book series, so even fans of the source material don't know how this character will figure into the living dead world in which Rick Grimes and company strive to survive.

Also new to the cast this season is Seth Gilliam (The Wire) as Father Gabriel, a key character from the comics. We'll keep Daily Dead readers posted on any further announcements about Noah and The Walking Dead Season 5.

Season 5 Overview: “Season Four of “The Walking Dead” ended with Rick and the group outgunned, outnumbered, and trapped in a train car awaiting a grim fate.

Season Five picks up shortly thereafter. What follows is a story that weaves the true motives of the people of Terminus with the hopeful prospect of a cure in Washington, D.C., the fate of the group’s lost comrades, as well as new locales, new conflicts, and new obstacles in keeping the group together and staying alive.

Stories will break apart and intersect. The characters will find love and hate. Peace and conflict. Contentment and terror. And, in the quest to find a permanent, safe place to call home, one question will haunt them…

After all they’ve seen, all they’ve done, all they’ve sacrificed, lost, and held on to no matter what the cost…

Who do they become?”
