*Updated with new casting details.* The cast for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant continues to assemble to face the dangers of deep space.

In addition to the four recent additions to the Alien: Covenant cast (see below), Deadline reveals that Alexander England (Gods of Egypt) has joined the film, with Billy Crudup (Spotlight, Watchmen) in talks to play a pivotal part.

EW (via Deadline) recently reported that Amy Seimetz (The Sacrament, You're Next, A Horrible Way to Die), Jussie Smollett (Empire), Carmen Ejogo (The Purge: Anarchy), and Callie Hernandez (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, Machete Kills) have been added to the cast of Alien: Covenant. Character details for the quartet have not been revealed.

The actors join Demián Bichir, Katherine Waterston, and Michael Fassbender in the second film of Fox's Alien prequel trilogy. Danny McBride, who was previously in talks to co-star in Alien: Covenant, is reportedly onboard the project at this time. Fassbender will reprise his role as the synthetic known as David, but it's still not known if Noomi Rapace will return to play Elizabeth Shaw from 2012's Prometheus.

Alien: Covenant is scheduled to hit theaters on October 6th, 2017 from Fox, with filming reportedly set to start next month. We’ll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed.

Alien: Covenant synopsis: “Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”
