This week sees the return of Graboid Hunter and Survivalist Burt Gummer in Tremors 5: Bloodlines which follows the beloved character, portrayed by franchise mainstay Michael Gross, to South Africa where the subterranean monsters—as well as their beastly brethren the Assblasters—are terrorizing a small village near an area known as the "Cradle of Humankind."

Daily Dead recently had the opportunity to sit down with Gross for an in-depth discussion on all things Tremors and in this first part of our interview, the long-time actor chatted about transitioning from Family Ties to the world of oversized monsters back in 1990, how Burt has evolved throughout the years, the challenges of staying true to the franchise and what he’s up to this time around for Tremors 5: Bloodlines.

Check out the first part of our video interview with Gross below and be sure to check back tomorrow for the second installment that features more from the man behind everyone’s favorite gun-loving monster hunter.
