A blast from the past keeps a close eye on a newly moved couple in The Gift, the directorial debut of Joel Edgerton, who also stars in the film alongside Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall, as shown in the film's first trailer. We also have a look at a new promo for Salem Season 2 and two clips from Scream Factory's upcoming Blu-ray release of Deep in the Darkness.

The Gift: "Can you really go through life having never wronged anyone? Even if you are unaware of how, or when, and even who you may have wronged....chances are there is someone out there who won't ever forget it...or you.

Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall) are a young married couple whose life is going just as planned until a chance encounter with an acquaintance from Simon's high school sends their world into a harrowing tailspin. Simon doesn't recognize Gordo (Joel Edgerton) at first, but after a seemingly coincidental series of encounters proves troubling, a horrifying secret from their past is uncovered after nearly 20 years. As Robyn learns the unsettling truth about what happened between Simon and Gordo, she starts to question: how well do we really know the people closest to us, and are past bygones ever really bygones?

From the producer of Whiplash and The Purge, Jason Blum, comes a chilling psychological thriller that marks the feature directorial debut of acclaimed actor and writer Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby, Zero Dark Thirty, Warrior)."

Written and directed by Joel Edgerton and produced by Jason Blum, The Gift stars Edgerton, Jason Bateman, and Rebecca Hall. STX Entertainment will give The Gift a wide theatrical release on July 31st.

Salem Season 2: The 13-episode second season of WGN America's Salem premieres on Sunday, April 5th at 10pm ET:

"From creators and writers Brannon Braga (“Cosmos,” “24”) and Adam Simon (“The Haunting in Connecticut”), “Salem” season two opens at the dawn of the witch war set into motion at the end of season one, with its catalyst and Salem’s deadliest witch, Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery, “Made in Jersey,” “Human Target”) at the center of the mayhem as she faces off against new and old adversaries vying for her throne. In the wake of the destruction caused by the Grand Rite, completed by Mary and inadvertently triggered by Isaac Walton (Iddo Goldberg, “Mob City”) in the season one finale, the fates of Captain John Alden (Shane West, “Nikita,” “ER”), Cotton Mather (Seth Gabel, “Arrow,” “Fringe”), Tituba (Ashley Madekwe, “Revenge”), Anne Hale (Tamzin Merchant, “Jane Eyre”), Mercy Lewis (Elise Eberle, “The Astronaut Farmer”) and Isaac hang in the balance.

New to the embattled 17th-century village for the second season of “Salem” are Lucy Lawless as Countess Marburg, one of the last descendants of a legendary line of ancient German witches; Stuart Townsend as Samuel Wainwright, a mysterious doctor looking to uncover the secrets of Salem as he keeps a few of his own; Joe Doyle (“Raw”) as Baron Sebastian Marburg, the charming and cultured son of the Countess; and Oliver Bell (“The Saint”) as Mary’s long-lost son, who was revealed in the season one finale to have been secretly kept alive all along by her coven."

Deep in the Darkness: "Dr. Michael Cayle thought leaving the chaotic lifestyle of New York City for the quiet, small town of Ashborough would bring his family closer together. Soon after arriving, however, he discovers the town's deepest secret: a terrifying and controlling race of creatures that live in the darkness in the woods behind his home.

Starring Dean Stockwell (Blue Velvet, Quantum Leap), Sean Patrick Thomas (Save The Last Dance, Cruel Intentions, Barbershop) and Blanche Baker (Sixteen Candles) and directed by Colin Theys (Remains, Dead Souls), this eerily terrifying film takes your darkest fears and brings them home to roost."

Scream Factory will release Deep in the Darkness on Blu-ray and DVD on April 21st with the following special features:

  • Trailer
  • TV Spots
  • Meet The Makers
