“I’ll be back.” Arnold Schwarzenegger’s cyborg warrior will make good on that promise next summer when Paramount unleashes Terminator: Genisys to theaters. New takes on familiar characters like Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese will be featured in the film, with Arnold once again playing a durable T-800 (this one referred to as "Pops"), and fans can get a good look at the endoskeleton action to come in the film's first full-length trailer.

Hitting theaters on July 1st, 2015, from Paramount Pictures, Terminator: Genisys is directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World, Game of Thrones) off a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a protective T-800, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as an adult John Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, Matt Smith in a yet to be revealed role, as well as Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance, Byung-hun Lee, and J. K. Simmons.

Two sequels to the Terminator reboot are planned, with Terminator 2 due out on May 19th, 2017, and Terminator 3 slated for release on June 29th, 2018, and the plan is for both sequels to film back-to-back.

In case you missed it, we have the official plot details of the new Terminator film from the cover story that appeared in an earlier issue of EW:

“Sarah Connor isn’t the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton’s steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991’s T2. Rather, the mother of humanity’s messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she’s been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger’s Terminator—an older T-800 she calls “Pops”—who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who’s great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.”
