Watch the New Trailer for Carrie

The remake of Carrie was originally set open in theaters in March, but got pushed back to October 18th. We saw a handful of photos and the teaser trailer late last year, but get a much better look at the movie in the latest trailer from Sony.

“The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday, Youth in Revolt), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde, The Three Musketeers), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (newcomer Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.”

Carrie was directed by Kimberly Peirce, and stars Chloe Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Gabriella Wilde, and Ansel Elgort. Catch up on our previous coverage of Carrie at the following links:

Well, it looks like a true remake, updated with today’s gadgets, I guess it will be embraced by today’s youth, but I still say and will always say, you can’t beat the original. :)

Yea, I’m with Ramona. From the beginning this was touted as a re-imagining and from this preview it doesn’t look like that at all. Not sure if this is worth it, because the original was soooooo good!
