In October 2010, a mock trailer for Clown was released by Jon Watts and Christopher D. Ford, which featured Eli Roth’s name, even though he was unaware of the trailer’s existence. Eventually, this got the attention of Eli Roth and he ended coming on board as a producer to give these guys the opportunity to make a full feature out of their concept.

After not hearing much about Clown this year, it's been revealed movie is filming right now in Ottawa and we have some casting news to share. According to The Welland Tribune, Seven year old Christian Distefano will be playing Jack, "the son of a man who tries on a clown suit for a birthday party and becomes possessed by the spirit which inhabits it." Elizabeth Whitmere and Matthew Stefiuk have been cast as the parents, and Bloody Disgusting reports that Andy Powers (Oz) will appear in the movie as well.

At this time there are no additional details about the movie, but it is expected to be released next year and we'll have more details as soon as they become available. Eli Roth is currently involved in a number of projects, including directing The Green Inferno and producing Ti West's The Sacrament, which recently completed filming.
