Following the casting of its first series regular, another actress has now joined Fox's The Exorcist TV series to play the sister of the potentially possessed.

Deadline reports that Hannah Kasulka has been added to The Exorcist TV series to play Casey Rance, a relatively unnoticed member of the family who is concerned about the well-being of her sister, who doesn't like to leave her room after suffering an intense accident. Brianne Howey (Scream Queens) was recently cast as the suffering sister, Charlotte—a character who could be possessed.

Kasulka has acted in numerous TV series, including True Blood, Filthy Preppy Teen$, The Fosters, and How to Get Away with Murder. The actress also appeared in Dennis Iliadis' sci-fi thriller, +1.

A contemporary reimagining of William Peter Blatty’s 1971 novel of the same name, The Exorcist series is being written by Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Effect, 2015’s Fantastic Four). Director Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) is expected to helm the first episode. Producing duties are handled by 20th Century Fox Television and Morgan Creek Productions, with Slater executive producing along with James Robinson, David Robinson, and Barbara Wall.

The series is described as “a propulsive, serialized psychological thriller following two very different men tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession, and confronting the face of true evil.” So far, Fox has only ordered a pilot episode for The Exorcist, so we'll have to wait and see if a full series order is placed.

William Friedkin previously adapted Blatty’s The Exorcist with the 1973 film of the same name—a movie that’s haunted countless viewers and is regarded by many as one of the scariest horror films ever made.

We'll keep Daily Dead readers updated on The Exorcist TV series as more details are revealed.
