The folks at Fox recently announced they are developing a TV series pilot titled Frankenstein, but based on the show's synopsis, you shouldn't expect to see a mob of angry townspeople with pitchforks and blazing torches anytime soon.

Deadline reports that Fox is developing a pilot for Frankenstein, "a grounded sci-fi drama" with Howard Gordon and Rand Ravich executive producing, with the latter also writing the project. Here's the pilot's synopsis (via Deadline):

"Frankenstein centers on Adam Tremble, a morally corrupt FBI agent who is given a second chance at life when he is brought back from the dead. Now younger and stronger, Tremble will have to choose between his old temptations and his new sense of purpose — dealing with threats beyond the FBI’s capabilities. All the while navigating the complicated relationship with his “creators”: an antisocial Internet billionaire and his bio-engineer twin sister."

Both Howard Gordon and Rand Ravich have experience working in the horror/sc-fi genres. Gordon was a producer on The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel, while Ravich co-wrote 1995's Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh and wrote and directed 1999's The Astronaut's Wife. We'll keep Daily Dead readers updated on further Frankenstein developments.
