With its inclusion in the NY Museum of Modern Art’s “The Contenders 2013” film series (Lloyd shares the same roster with such directorial luminaries as David Lynch, Sofia Coppola, the Coen Brothers and Woody Allen), and recently named “People’s Choice Award for Film of the Year” at the Bizarre Atlantic City festival, RETURN TO NUKE ‘EM HIGH, VOL. 1 is Lloyd Kaufman’s latest Tromasterpiece. A hilarious, thoughtful sci-fi event film with themes ripped straight from today's headlines: the contamination and degradation of the world's food supply, rampant bullying and LGBTQ love triumphing over prejudice and violence. New MoMA Screening Announced:
"Troma Entertainment will take over New York’s prestigious Museum of Modern Art for a special “Troma at MoMA” evening on Thursday, January 9th when RETURN TO NUKE ‘EM HIGH, VOL.1, the film that marks the return of Lloyd Kaufman to the director’s chair and kicks off Troma Entertainment’s 40th Anniversary celebration, will have a special screening as part of MoMA’s 2013 “The Contenders” film series. After the screening, writer/producer/director and Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman will participate in a Q&A.
The MoMA event will preview the film’s New York exclusive theatrical engagement beginning Friday, January 10th at the Village East Cinemas.
Now in its sixth year, “The Contenders” series represents the best of mainstream movies, independents, foreign-language films, documentaries, and art-house sensations selected from major studio releases and top film festivals by curators in MoMA’s Department of Film.
RETURN TO NUKE ‘EM HIGH, VOL. 1has been selected for this year’s series, which also includes such critical darlings as Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity, Steve McQueen’s 12 Years A Slave; David Lynch’s Duran Duran: Unstaged, J.C. Chandor’s All Is Lost and Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine."

The Friday January 10th event will be moderated by Evan Michelson and Mike Zohn from the Science Channel show “Oddities!”
