Ciarán Foy will transition from the frightening farmyard of Sinister 2 to a haunted Irish island in his next feature film, The Shee.

Variety reports that Foy (Citadel) will direct The Shee, a film produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse, Alan Maher from Roads Entertainment, and Foy via Shadow Aspect.

The Shee "centers on a troubled young woman who has to deal with her tragic past on a remote island." Also known as aos sí, the shee are supernatural entities akin to elves that, according to Irish mythology, can exist in an invisible realm within our world as well as under the surface of the Earth. It's not yet known what type of take on the shee Foy will explore in his upcoming film, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated on further details.
