Strapped for cash and striving to sustain his son's medical treatments, a father captures a killer who is actually a werewolf in Curse. The four-issue comic book mini-series was released by BOOM! Studios in 2014, and now they are collaborating with Blumhouse to bring it back into the moonlight with a feature film adaptation.

THR reveals that Blumhouse has optioned the rights to BOOM! Studios' werewolf comic, which was created by Michael Moreci (Hoax Hunters), Tim Daniel (Enormous), Riley Rossmo (Rebel Blood) and Colin Lorimer (UXB).

Blumhouse's Jason Blum and BOOM! Studios' Ross Richie and Stephen Christy will produce the project, with Adam Yoelin from BOOM! also on hand as an executive producer.

It's not yet known who will adapt the story for the big screen or who will step behind the camera for the Curse adaptation, but stay tuned to Daily Dead for more updates. For those who haven't read Curse yet, we have its official synopsis and a look at the cover art:

"Laney Griffith is a man who will do anything to save his son from leukemia, but the cost of treatment has broken him financially. When he pursues an elusive murderer in the wilderness of his small, rural community, in the hopes of securing a substantial bounty, Laney is confronted with something he never could have expected: a werewolf. The captive lycan, in human form, turns Laney’s life upside-down, forcing him to confront his haunted past and race against the clock—because the wolf will return, and Laney’s son’s condition continues to worsen. CURSE is a story of a family’s survival at all costs."
