Do you crave horror in the anthology form? Do you miss the days when practical effects ruled the horror screen? If so, you're not alone. Filmmaker Ryan Spindell shares those longings and is writing a love letter to horror's 1980's heydays with his Kickstarter project, The Mortuary Collection.
A gothic horror anthology film in the works, The Mortuary Collection centers on an undertaker who tells four tales of terror to a young girl who takes shelter in his mortuary. With 16 days left on its Kickstarter timeline, the film is over the halfway mark to reaching its $50,000 goal, but it could still use some help. If you like Creepshow, Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, The Twilight Zone or Tales from the Crypt, then this could very well be a project you'd like to support.
Ryan Spindell and his team are making each segment of The Mortuary Collection independently to ensure enough time and quality for each segment. Some of the Kickstarter perks include The Mortuary Collection comic book, props from the film, and a wearable Ash chainsaw made by Spindell himself.
