For years, viewers invited Chris Wiggins into their living rooms to hear his vast knowledge of all things occult on Friday the 13th: The Series, so it is with great sadness that we inform readers that the actor has passed away in Ontario at the age of 87 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease.

According to THR, the news of Wiggins' passing was recently shared in an obituary published in the Toronto Star. His family has requested that loved ones and fans donate to the Alzheimer Society in place of purchasing flowers for his memorial service in mid-March.

Wiggins is perhaps best remembered for his aforementioned role as Jack Marshak in Friday the 13th: The Series. As fans know, instead of Jason Voorhees, the series focused on cursed antiques that had to be tracked down, and Wiggins' character was absolutely vital in helping Micki Foster and Ryan Dallion on their quests, entertaining and informing viewers in 65 episodes of the series. Wiggins also appeared on the big and small screen in a wide range of projects such as The Neptune Factor, Mazes and Monsters, Maniac Mansion, and Swiss Family Robinson.

But as well-known as he is in front of the camera, Wiggins was even more prolific in bringing characters to life through his vocal cords, lending his voice to countless radio programs and TV shows, including the 1960s Spider-Man series, Star Wars: Droids, Dinosaucers, The Care Bears Family, Babar, The NeverEnding Story, Sailor Moon, and many more.

Our thoughts are with Wiggins' family and friends during this difficult time. He will be dearly missed by fans who grew up with his work, but his influence will surely live on in generations to come.
