The 14th Annual TromaDance Film Festival will invade Asbury Park, New Jersey on April 12th and 13th. We have the official schedule for both days, and details on the recently announced secret screening of Return to Nuke 'Em High: Volume One:
"TromaDance is the first film festival wholeheartedly devoted to filmmakers and fans. Unlike every other film festival, TromaDance does not charge filmmakers to submit their films. Entrance to all screenings is free and open to the public. Also, there are no VIP reservations or preferential treatment regarding films, panels, or parties of any kind given. The organizers of TromaDance believe films are meant to be seen, especially when it comes to new filmmakers. Art - in all its forms - is for the people!
TromaDance features a range of films made independently, usually without big stars, big money and far removed from the Hollywood studio system. The official selections of TromaDance have been made with nothing more than passion, courage, integrity, and raw talent."
Secret Screening of Return to Nuke 'Em High: Volume One:
The TromaDance Selection Committee is proud to announce that Troma Entertainment will hold a secret screening of the latest Troma Team production "Return to Nuke 'Em High: Volume One" at the 14th Annual Film Festival at Asbury Lanes, in Asbury Park, NJ at 8PM on Saturday, April 13th. "Though we do not normally screen Troma movies at TromaDance," says TromaDance founder Lloyd Kaufman, "we decided to hold this secret screening in response to the thousands of requests we have received from our fans who have supported Troma for 40 years and TromaDance for 14 years."
Synopsis: "Return to Nuke 'Em High Vol. One & Two" is a satirical sci-fi comedy event film with themes ripped straight from today's headlines: the contamination and degradation of the world's food supply, rampant bullying, love triumphing over prejudice and LGBT rights. The film, a revisiting of Troma's 1986 "Class of Nuke Em High" is in the same vein as other classics such as "Class of 1984," "Rock 'n' Roll High School," and "Carrie," but seen through the unique vision of Lloyd Kaufman and the Troma Team. Welcome to Tromaville High School where, unfortunately, the glee club has mutated into a vicious gang of Cretins. Chrissy and Lauren, two innocent lovers-bloggers, must fight not only the Cretins, mutants and monsters but also the evil Tromorganic Foodstuffs Conglomerate. Will they save Tromaville High School and the world?
