Early April will see the start of Taste, a new play that should interest horror fans, as it was directed by Stuart Gordon. For those in the Hollywood area, we have details on when you can see Taste, including details on special showings that include a Stuart Gordon Q&A:

"You’re invited to the most disturbing dinner party of the year. Based on a shocking true story, two men meet online and make a unique arrangement: one will kill, cook, and eat the other. Taste imagines their first and only meeting, told in real time, in a working kitchen.

In 2011, acclaimed horror director Stuart Gordon brought his feature-film cult classic Re–Animator to the stage with the inspired songs of composer Mark Nutter and created a singing, dancing Re-Animator The Musical. The hilarious, blood drenched show ran for six months at the Steve Allen Theater before triumphant runs at the New York Musical Theater Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was honored by the Ovation Awards, the LA Drama Critics Circle, and won six LA Weekly awards, including BEST MUSICAL. Gordon’s earlier stage work includes Nevermore…An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe starring Jeffrey Combs, which earned rave reviews on both coasts and is currently touring the country.

Now audiences can be among the first to witness Gordon and playwright Benjamin Brand’s unique vision of an all-consuming relationship.Warning:  Due to strong sexual content and imagery, no one under the age of 18 will be admitted.

Taste stars Chris L. McKenna as Vic, the man who has chosen to be eaten. He was last seen onstage in Re-Animator The Musical and played the title role in Gordon’s film King of the Ants. Donal Thoms-Cappello is Terry, the gourmet cook with a taste for the bizarre. A company member of Sacred Fools Theater, Donal was seen last season in Watson and the Dark Arts of Harry Houdini as the famous escape artist.

Special effects will be provided by Tony Doublin, who won an LA Drama Critics Award and LA Weekly Award for creating the wonders of the Splash Zone for Re-Animator The Musical. Gabe Bartalos, best known for his film work with director Frank Henenlotter and Matthew Barney’s Cremaster Cycle, will provide special makeup effects.

The Sacred Fools Theater Company is dedicated to fostering a dynamic, empowered artistic community in Los Angeles. Notable previous productions include the Buster Keaton comedic biography Stoneface, the award-winning action-comedy Watson, the ongoing late-night episodic extravaganza Serial Killers, the award-winning musical Louis & Keely, and recent hits Neverwhere and Absolutely Filthy. Run solely by the ensembled artists, the company’s smashing 17th season continues its ongoing commitment to the development of new plays and projects which challenge traditional expectations of the theatrical experience. Its goal is to produce work, which invigorates, enlightens and entertains."
