Evil Dead Remake Casts Female Lead

Evil Dead remake stories continue to roll in and we have a report on who's taking on the lead female role. According to Deadline, Jane Levy (Suburgatory) is replacing Lily Collins who recently dropped out of the film due to scheduling issues. **Spoiler** It is rumored that Jane's role is the female equivalent of Ash in the film and that she'll be the main star. **End Spoiler**

Jane Levy joins Shiloh Fernandez who was recently cast as in the lead male role. Filming is set to begin later this year in New Zealand with Fede Alvarez directing. “Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”
