Unless you live in Toronto, there aren't been too many chances lately to meet the man responsible for the zombies we know and love today. Thankfully, he's been taking part in a handful of convention appearances over the last year and it has been announced that he'll be the guest of honor at Texas Frightmare Weekend.

"Texas Frightmare Weekend is presented in association with Rue Morgue Magazine. Conceived by Loyd and Sue Cryer in 2005 as a three day horror convention, the event takes place annually in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. True to its motto, “The Southwest’s Premier Horror Convention”, our goal is to provide fans with an unrivaled experience by celebrating all aspects of genre films. Texas Frightmare Weekend hosts celebrity appearances, autograph signings, screenings, exclusive parties and horror memorabilia vendors from all over the country. The event is also extremely proud to have featured the rising talents of many Texas “Frightmakers” in screenings, panel discussions and Q & A’s.

After humble beginnings at the tiny Grapevine Convention Center in Grapevine, TX, TFW (as it has begun to be called by attendees) is arguably the largest horror convention in the nation. The event boasts over 10,000 attendees annually and has hosted genre legends such as Danny Trejo, George A. Romero, Clive Barker, Malcom McDowell, Robert Englund, John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, Cary Elwes and hundreds more."

This year's Texas Frightmare Weekend will be taking place on May 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at the Hyatt Regency DFW hotel. Along with George A. Romero, who will be there all three days, the current list of guests includes Michael Biehn, Earl Boen, Linda Hamilton, Kristanna Loken, Robert Patrick, Julie Adams, Ricou Browing, Sarah Wayne Callies, Chandler Riggs, Scott Wilson, and many more.
