There's never a dull moment when Jack Black is around, and today's Goosebumps discussion panel proved it. Sharing the stage with friend and director of the film, Rob Letterman, the two brought an effortless humor to the proceedings as they discussed their time working together on the film.

This led to the exciting reveal of the first sizzle reel for the upcoming film. Only a minute or two in length, it successfully relayed the level of humor and charm Jack Black is known for in his younger audience films. Playing a fictional version of Goosebumps author R.L. Stine, Jack Black is a campy, creepy recluse who appears dead set on keeping his daughter from straying too far from home. This situation leads a new neighbor to try and save Stine's daughter after he sees what he thinks is her being attacked.

The manuscripts of R.L. Stine, not just simple text, actually hold the monsters of his tales within them and it appears the young man releases the Pandora's Box of horror characters into the world during his attempt to save her. The following scenes showed a mix of CGI and practical effects that would make any monster-fan proud. Monsters included a giant mantis, a yeti, a werewolf, ghouls, gnomes, a scarecrow and many, many more.

As the reel ended and the lights came up, the two took questions from the audience. Jack Black shared a sweet moment with a young fan and performed some impromptu Kung Fu in trade for some Italian, and the two were hard pressed by older fans of the series to give up hints on which other monsters from the Goosebumps series will be making an appearance. With a hesitant 'yes' and an 'eyebrow raising code' the director and actor appeared to answer that fan-favorites such as the Haunted Mask and a reference to Welcome to Camp Nightmare could all be expected.

One last surprise waited for the audience when at the end, when Slappy, the puppet antagonist from the novel Night of the Living Dummy, became a third panelist. After a bit of banter between the puppet and Black, an entire cast of monsters from the film took the stage. The crowd cheered as the Bog Monster, ghouls, the executioner, and many more dragged Black off stage, drawing the panel to a close. Goosebumps is slated to be released in August of 2015.
