Well, genre fans, we only have four home entertainment releases coming our way this Tuesday, but as the saying goes, they are quality over quantity.

Scream Factory is releasing the ’90s thriller The Crush on Blu-ray this week and we also have two great recent films to look forward to as well: The Wave and Midnight Special. Rounding out this Tuesday’s Blu-ray and DVD offerings is Bayview Entertainment’s DVD release of the ’80s cult classic, Biohazard.

Biohazard (Bayview Entertainment, DVD)

The cult classic returns featuring an all-new 2K 16x9 widescreen film transfer from the original 35mm negative! A group of scientists, army types and a buxom psychic use a variety of methods to suck a bloodthirsty alien out of another dimension. Upon arriving, the little devil blasts his way loose, taking part of a soldiers face along the way. The psychic and her network of friends chase the beast, tracking him down for a blood-drenched finale in an underground beauty shop.

Filmed over the course of two years, BIOHAZARD (1983-84) was Fred Olen Ray's follow up to his movie SCALPS and features much of the same cast and crew. This time around the monster was played by the director's 5-year-old son, Chris Olen Ray. Cult favorites Angelique Pettyjohn (MAD DOCTOR OF BLOOD ISLAND, STAR TREK, GET SMART), Aldo Ray (THE GREEN BERETS) and Carroll Borland (MARK OF THE VAMPIRE, FLASH GORDON) were pressed into service for added name value. The end result was a campy, quirky "everything but the kitchen sink" sci-fi monster fest!

Mastered in 16x9 widescreen from a 2K scan of the original 35mm negative BIOHAZARD rips across the screen like never before in Blood Color! Special Features: New audio commentary by Fred Olen Ray and David DeCoteau, "Remembering Biohazard" featurette, unfinished scenes.

The Crush (Scream Factory, Blu-ray)

A man who should know better. A much younger teenager. No way should there be any kind of romance between them. Yet from the moment 14-year-old Adrian met Nick, she was crazy about him. There must be something she can say or do. Some way she can show him this is not just a crush. What can she do? What won’t she do?

Romantic obsession has harrowing consequences in The Crush, a suspense thriller starring Cary Elwes (Saw, The Princess Bride), Jennifer Rubin (Bad Dreams, Screamers) and Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, The Babysitter) in her breakthrough role. Elwes plays Nick, at first flattered by Adrian’s flirtation, then gripped with outright fear. Because what Adrian wants, Adrian gets. If she can’t have her Mr. Right, no one can.

Special Features include Audio Commentary with writer/director Alan Shapiro, “The Doting Father” – an interview with Kurtwood Smith (10 minutes), “Stung By Love” – an interview with actress Jennifer Rubin (13 minutes), Theatrical Trailer and TV Spot.

Midnight Special (Warner Home Video, Blu/Digital HD & DVD)

A father (Michael Shannon) goes on the run to protect his young son, Alton (Jaeden Lieberher), and uncover the truth behind the boy's special powers. What starts as a race from religious extremists and local law enforcement quickly escalates to a nationwide manhunt involving the highest levels of the Federal Government. Ultimately his father risks everything to protect Alton and help fulfill a destiny that could change the world forever, in this genre–defying film as supernatural as it is intimately human.

The Wave (Magnolia Home Entertainment, Blu-ray & DVD)

The very day he's about to drive his family to a new life in the city, geologist Kristian Elkjord senses something wrong with the mountain that overlooks his scenic town. No one wants to believe that this could be the big one, especially with tourist season at its peak, but when a landslide from the Mountain sends tons of rock and earth crashing into the sea, everyone has ten minutes to outrace the resulting tsunami to higher ground in this thrilling action spectacular.
