Late last year, news broke that Kevin Bacon was looking to return to Perfection as Valentine “Val” McKee in a new Tremors TV series. While we haven't heard much about the series since then, Bacon recently spoke briefly with Collider about returning to the giant worm-ridden world of Tremors.

Speaking with Collider to promote the pilot episode of a new show, Bacon mentioned that the Tremors TV series is currently in development at Amazon and that they are awaiting a script draft from Andrew Miller, who is writing the project.

While four sequels and a short-lived Sci-Fi Channel series were released after the first film's debut in 1990, Bacon is more focused on following the events of the original movie than those that followed it:

"They went and made a bunch of sequels to the movie. I want to put those aside because, first of all, I wasn’t in them. But what I was really interested in was taking this guy and, 25 years later, seeing what happened to him, to his dreams, and to his life. Andrew Miller, who’s writing the script, came up with this really, really interesting take on it, and I think it could be a lot of fun."

A collaboration between Universal Cable Productions and Blumhouse, the new Tremors TV series was previously reported on by EW, who revealed that Bacon is lined up to executive produce and star in the series as handyman-turned-Graboid-fighter Val McKee, a character he last played over 25 years ago.

Other than Bacon as Val, it's currently unknown who else would appear in the series. Could we see the return of Fred Ward’s Earl Basset, Reba McEntire’s Heather Gummer, or Michael Gross’ Burt Gummer (who was featured in Tremors 5: Bloodlines last October)? Only time will tell, and we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated on more details as they break through the surface like a Graboid going after its next meal. In the meantime, what do you want to see in a new Tremors series?
